DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Rancho: Creating ‘Home’ in Post-Conquest Los Angeles\nIn “Beyond the Rancho: Creating ‘Home’ in Post-Conquest Los Angeles\,” Dr. Margie Brown-Coronel will focus on gender\, families\, and social networks in late 19th Century Southern California. Dr. Brown-Coronel earned her PhD in History from UC Irvine. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of History at CSU Fullerton\, where she teaches courses in US History\, Borderlands History\, US Women’s History and Public History. She previously held a Latino Studies postdoctoral fellowship at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. This program will take place on the RLC veranda and is funded by a grant from California Humanities. Free event. RSVPs appreciated.
