Blacklight Bug Catching–City Nature Challenge

As part of the City Nature Challenge , join us for this special after-hours entomological adventure!

Entomologist Rich Shilk will have  a black light set-up to attract nocturnal insects on Saturday April 29^th.  This is part of the Rancho’s  participation of City Nature Challenge as we observe and document wildlife on the site.  Not only will we have a new moon, but we will be turning off most of the typical lighting to direct the critters to our location.

Program runs from 7:30 -9:00 pm. There is no charge but space is limited and reservations are mandatory.  Wear closed toed shoes and dress for the weather/time of day. If you are bringing a headlamp or flashlight you will be asked to leave it off during the program so as not to disturb the insects.
